Sangria 1 750ml bottle of red wine ( Rioja is best, or Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Shiraz will work too.) 2 lemons 2 limes 1 Orange 3 tbsps white sugar 1/4 cup orange juice 2 ounces gin 1 cup sliced strawberries 1 small can pineapple chunks and juice 4 cups ginger ale
Pour wine into a large pitcher. Cut lemon, limes, and orange into wedges and squeeze the juice into the wine and then add the wedges into the wine as well. Add sugar, orange juice, strawberries, pineapple chunks/juice and gin to the wine and chill overnight. Just before serving, add the ginger ale.
Notes: -The best Sangrias are chilled for 24 hours to allow the flavors to blend together. -There are literally hundreds of recipe variations for Sangria, so feel free to experiment with your favorite fruit combinations! |
